Fall 2017 Renovation and Moving Update

The fall semester sees many changes in the physical locations and facilities for our two physics departments.

Here is a general update:

Department and Faculty Office Moves

The CU Denver Physics Department Office will be relocating to North Classroom 3109 for the fall, and Dr. Zaidins, Dr. Huber, Bruce Hines, Kristopher Bunker, and Dawn Arge will have their offices in North Classroom. The remainder of the CU Denver Physics Faculty will be moving to the Administration Building for the fall (AD on this linked map on the west end of campus - https://www.ahec.edu/files/general/General-Campus-Map.pdf). We've attached a floor plan of the second floor of the Administration Building which shows the location of the offices for your reference.

The MSU Denver Physics Department Office and faculty have moved to the Science Building for the fall. You can find all of them in a cluster near the western corner of Science (near the backside of the Library, pointing toward the PE Building). Look for a directory (perhaps on a whiteboard) near Science 1036.

Physics Student Lounge and Computational Physics Lab
The student lounge and tutoring room will be in Administration 200, and the Computational Physics Lab will be in Administration 205 (see the attached floor plan for their location).

New Physics Faculty
The CU Denver Physics Department has hired two new Assistant Professors - Dr. Amy Roberts and Dr. Anthony Villano. Dr. Roberts will joining the department this fall, and Dr. Villano will be joining the department in the fall 2018 semester. Say hello if you get the chance!

North Classroom Renovation Progress
The North Classroom Renovation Project is on schedule, and CU Denver Physics is set to occupy a bunch of new research and teaching labs!

Spring 2018
A brief update on our future locations: The CU Denver Physics Department will move into our renovated and permanent location in North Classroom for the spring 2018 semester. The MSU Denver Physics Department will move into their renovated and permanent location in Plaza for the spring 2018 semester.
